


Relief Sculpture & Plaster Casting Workshop
Step into the world of hands-on sculpture in this creative and immersive 3-hour workshop.
Whether you're completely new to sculpting or looking to experiment with clay and plaster in a fresh way, this session introduces you to the art of bas-relief and the casting process using simple but effective techniques.
In this workshop, you'll design and sculpt your own unique relief using clay and natural textures. You'll then create a negative plaster cast of your artvork. This is a complete creative cycle-from sculpting to casting-condensed into a single, highly engaging session.
All materials and tools are included in the workshop price — you only need to bring your enthusiasm and curiosity!
What You’ll Learn:
Introduction to Bas-Relief Sculpture - Learn the foundatonal principles of low-relef sculpture using clay.
Additive & Subtractive Techniques - Understand how to build up or carve away clay to shape your design.
Slab and Coil Methods - Use slab building and coiling to construct the base of your relief sculpture.
Natural Texture Imprinting - Explore composition using leaves, twigs, and other found objects to press into the clay.
Mould-Making & Casting - Construct a custom mould wal, pour plaster, and produce a negative cast of your artwork.
Cleaning & Finishing Casts - Leam how to safely demould and clean your plaster relief, and understand the basics of plaster care.
Throughout the workshop, you'll gain hands-on experience with sculpting materials while developing your understanding of depth, form, and composition. By the end of the session, you'll have created your own cast reproduction, giving you a strong foundation in this traditional art form.
