Summer Art Camp (Ages 8+)
A summer full of art, creativity and fun learning!
Our Summer Art Camp 2026 is an exciting, hands-on programme where young artists can explore, create, and have fun while learning new skills. Over 8 weeks, students attend three mornings a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays) in a welcoming studio environment designed for creativity and exploration.
Course Details
Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Friday
Starting Date: Tuesday 14th July 2026
Time: 8:15am till 1pm (4.75 hours)
Total: 24 sessions
Location: Art Academy, 131, Constitution Street, Mosta
Each week introduces new projects and ideas, encouraging students to try different techniques, express themselves, and build confidence in their artistic abilities.
Learn from Professional Artists
Our Summer Art Camp is led by a team of 10 professional artists who bring real-world experience, creativity, and passion into every session. With backgrounds in fine art, design, and creative practice, they guide students through each project with expert techniques and personalised support.
Through demonstrations, guidance, and encouragement, our instructors help young creatives develop new skills, explore different styles, and build confidence in their own artistic voice. Working closely with experienced artists means every session is inspiring, engaging, and designed to help each student grow—whether they are just starting out or already developing their skills.
What We’ll Explore
Students will work across a wide range of creative disciplines:
Drawing & Painting
Learn to draw, shade, and create compositions
Explore watercolours and acrylic painting on canvas
Try portrait drawing, figure drawing
Manga and comic illustrating
Discover artists and artworks from history that inspire our projects
Clay & Ceramics
Create pottery and sculpt with clay
Paint and decorate ceramic pieces
Learn how works are prepared and fired in a kiln
Textiles & Crafts
Weaving, macramé, and crochet
Sewing basics
Fabric painting and tie-dye techniques
Printmaking & Paper Arts
Lino printing
Paper making and bookbinding
Collage and mixed media
Creative & Decorative Arts
Modern calligraphy and lettering
Filigree jewellery making
Mosaic art
Pot painting and simple gardening
Photography
Introduction to photography
Vintage cameras and film development
All Materials Included – No Supplies Needed
Everything is fully provided, so students can simply arrive and start creating.
There is no need to bring any materials or equipment.
This includes all:
Drawing and painting materials
Clay, ceramic paints, and kiln firings
Textiles and craft materials
Tools, equipment, and aprons

Course Funding
Tax Deduction on Fees paid for Cultural and Creative Courses:
Parents of children under 16 who attended any Cultural or Creative courses at Art Academy are eligible for a tax deduction scheme of up to a maximum of €300 for each child. Parents are entitled to claim a deduction against their chargeable income of up to a maximum of €300 for each child. You don't need to do anything, we will apply for you after the completion of the course.
