Festive Embroidery Workshop
There is something especially meaningful about a Christmas decoration made slowly and carefully by hand.
In this festive embroidery workshop, you’ll learn the foundations of hand embroidery while creating your own Christmas design. From preparing your fabric and embroidery hoop to learning essential stitches, you’ll be guided through each stage of the process in a relaxed and supportive setting.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your handmade Christmas creation, together with your embroidery hoop and thread so you can continue practising and creating at home.
No previous embroidery experience is required.
What You’ll Learn
Throughout the workshop, you’ll be introduced to the essential techniques needed to begin your embroidery journey:
Preparing Your Fabric and Hoop – Learn how to position and secure your fabric correctly, creating a smooth surface for stitching.
Threading and Handling Your Needle – Discover how to prepare and work with embroidery thread for comfortable, consistent stitching.
Essential Embroidery Stitches – Learn a selection of beginner-friendly stitches that can be used in a wide variety of future projects.
Following an Embroidery Design – Learn how to build your festive image gradually by selecting and combining different stitches.
Working with Colour and Texture – Explore how thread colour, stitch direction and density can add detail and character to your design.
Finishing Your Embroidery – Learn how to secure your stitching and present your completed piece neatly inside its hoop.
Learn the Craft. Continue at Home.
This workshop is designed to offer more than a finished Christmas project. You’ll gain a practical introduction to the foundations of hand embroidery and learn techniques that can be applied to future decorations, gifts and textile projects.
At the end of the session, you’ll take home your completed embroidery, 10 cm wooden hoop and embroidery thread, allowing you to continue practising after the workshop.
The result is a personal festive decoration made by hand—and the beginning of a creative skill you can continue developing at home.
