Whether you're new to art-making or looking to expand your skills, this course guides you through expressive projects using collage, acrylics, metal leaf, pouring, resin, lino printing, and more.
Each session blends guided instruction with space for personal expression, helping you build confidence with texture, colour, and layered composition. You'll develop a series of unique artworks while experimenting with various surfaces, tools, and mixed media processes.
About the Instructor
This course is led by Jackie Micallef, a full-time Maltese–based mixed-media artist whose vibrant, texture‑rich paintings have been exhibited both locally and internationally. Jackie specializes in large-scale abstracts and explores innovative materials such as collage, acrylics, metal leaf, resin, and printmaking.
After beginning formal art lessons in 1992, she progressed to running her own studio and gallery in Mosta, Malta, and has participated in numerous exhibitions. Highlighting her industry recognition, in 2016 she was selected as one of just 20 artists worldwide to become a GOLDEN Certified Educator, after receiving intensive training in New Orleans, USA. She was also commissioned by Nestlé Perugina to design a special chocolate wrapper, showcasing the real‑world impact of her creative expertise.
With decades of hands-on experience and a passion for material experimentation, Jackie brings an inspiring and practical teaching style—perfect for students eager to explore mixed‑media art in a supportive, professional environment.
