Children's Crochet Course for Beginners (Ages 8 to 15)

What You Will Learn:
Introduction to Crochet: Familiarise yourself with the tools, materials, and basics of crochet.
Stitches: Master fundamental stitches such as chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet and others.
Reading Patterns: Learn how to read and understand crochet patterns to follow instructions effectively.
Joining & Changing Colours: Understand how to choose and join colours seamlessly, for visual impact.
Creating Simple Projects: Work on various projects, wearable pieces and 3D objects, to put your new skills into practice.
Creating a Granny Square: Step-by-step guidance on how to create a classic granny square, the foundation for many crochet projects.
Finishing Techniques: Learn the best ways to finish your projects with neat edges and finishing touches.
Troubleshooting: Gain tips on how to fix common crochet mistakes and maintain your progress.
This course is designed specifically for beginners—no prior experience required! Whether you’re just starting out or looking to learn new techniques, our professional instructor will guide you through every step of the process.
Course Details
Mode of Study: Once weekly (2 hours per lesson)
Duration: 10 Lessons
Location: Art Academy Mosta (131, Constitution Street, Mosta)
Requirements: Students will need to bring their own crochet supplies, such as yarn, crochet hooks, etc. The full supply list will be provided closer to the date. Not suitable for left handed students.
What’s Included: Hands-on teaching, individual attention
Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be accredited for their Informal Learning, thus given a signed and stamped form for their Informal Education by the Institute.
Ages: Students between 8 and 15 are welcome.
Course Funding
Tax Deduction on Fees paid for Cultural and Creative Courses:
Parents of children under 16 who attended any Cultural or Creative courses at Art Academy are eligible for a tax deduction scheme of up to a maximum of €300 for each child. Parents are entitled to claim a deduction against their chargeable income of up to a maximum of €300 for each child.
You don't need to do anything, we will apply for you after the completion of the course.
