Guided by an experienced Ceramic Artist and Tutor, participants will gain hands-on experience working with clay, learning how to transform their ideas into tangible, functional, and decorative pieces. The course encourages experimentation, self-expression, and artistic growth in a supportive and inspiring environment.

What Students Will Learn

Pottery Techniques
Students will build a strong foundation in core ceramic methods, including hand-building, coiling, slab construction, and pinching. These techniques will allow them to create a wide range of original pieces while developing fine motor skills and craftsmanship.

Surface Decoration
Participants will explore a variety of decorative approaches, experimenting with textures, patterns, carving, and imprinting. This component enhances creativity and teaches students how to add depth and personality to their work.

Glazing Fundamentals
Students will be introduced to the art of glazing, learning essential skills such as colour selection, layering techniques, and finishing processes. They will understand how glazing transforms raw clay into vibrant, finished ceramic pieces.

Design Development & Inspiration
Through the use of sketchbooks, students will learn how to gather inspiration, plan their projects, and develop cohesive design ideas. This encourages critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to translate concepts into physical forms.

Creative Projects
