Follow your list and purchase the items you need.

Sewing kit

(bring these items from the first lesson onwards):

Add On:

  • Good quality sewing machine thread (depending on your fabric colour)

  • Tacking thread (different colour than your fabric)

  • Clipper (to cut threads)

Purchase later

Add On:

  • Sewing machine (if available/required for the project)

  • Calico or other inexpensive fabric for toile/test garments (2meters)

  • Zips, elastic, interfacing or other fastenings as required by the chosen project

  • Main fabric as advised by the tutor

  • Commercial sewing pattern, if the student chooses to work from one

Optional (but useful) Items

  • Ruler: A clear, grid ruler for measuring and cutting straight lines.

  • Carbon tracing paper (2-3 different colours)

  • Paper/pattern tracing wheel

  • Erasable pen/ heat erasable fabric marking pen
