What They’ll Explore
Explore a Variety of Materials – Throughout the course, children will experiment with poster paint, watercolors, clay, crayons, colored pencils, collage, and more, helping them discover different textures, techniques, and ways to create.
Hands-On Learning – From painting and drawing to crafting and sculpting, every session introduces new ways for little artists to develop fine motor skills, coordination, and confidence in their abilities.
Self-Expression & Fun – Art is all about imagination and play! This course encourages children to freely explore their ideas, turning simple materials into colorful masterpieces they’ll be proud of.
Small Groups, Big Ideas – With small class sizes (max 10 children), our experienced tutors provide individual attention and guidance, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for young learners.
A Safe & Inspiring Space – Our classroom is designed with children in mind, featuring comfortable, child-friendly and a relaxed atmosphere, allowing them to feel at home while they create.
This course is a wonderful introduction to the joy of making art, helping children build confidence, explore new skills, and develop a lifelong love for creativity!
Course Details:
Mode: Once Weekly (1.5 hours each lesson)
Duration: 10 lessons
Where: Art Academy Mosta (131 Constitution Street Mosta) or Art Academy Zurrieq (88, Triq Matteolo Saliba, Zurrieq)
Requirements: Students will need to bring their own art materials (excluding poster paint and disposable palette which will be provided by Art Academy)
Age Requirement: Students are required to be between 4 to 5 years at the time of attending the course or have their birthday during the time of attending the course. Younger or older students will not be accepted.
Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance

Age Requirement: To be able to attend this course, it is vital that students are between 6 to 8 years at the time of attending the course or are turning 6 during the course. Younger or older students will not be accepted.

New Materials & Textures – This course encourages experimentation with a variety of materials, including acrylics, pencils, watercolours, oil pastels, clay, and more, allowing each child to discover their preferred medium and style.
Creative Themes – Every session is centered around fun and dynamic themes, from nature and portraits to abstract design and still life, stimulating their imagination and encouraging original thinking.
This course is designed to ignite your child's creativity, build new artistic skills, and help them develop their own unique artistic voice. Whether they’re just starting their artistic journey or building on previous experience, this course offers the perfect blend of fun, learning, and artistic discovery!

This course is designed to help students (ages 12+) build a strong foundation in art as they prepare for the Art O-Level exam. Whether they plan to take art as a subject in school or sit for the exam privately, this course provides essential training in drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media techniques.
Students will explore a wide range of dry and wet media, including:
Sketching pencils & coloured pencils – Developing shading, texture, and colour blending skills
Pen & ink – Exploring line work, cross-hatching, and tonal values
Watercolours & acrylics – Understanding layering, washes, and brush techniques
Oil pastels – Creating bold, expressive works with rich textures
Lino printing – Learning the basics of relief printing and pattern design
Canvas painting – Composing and painting with confidence on a larger scale
A key focus of the course is on portfolio development, where students will learn how to plan, refine, and sequence their work, an essential skill for exam success. Through hands-on projects and personalised tutor guidance, they will also build creative confidence and develop their own artistic style.
The course is structured into four modules, each with 10 lessons that explore different techniques and themes. These modules can be taken in any order, allowing flexibility for students to join at any time.
Course Modules
Module 1: Exploring media such as pen and ink, charcoal, acrylics and the lino printing technique.
Module 2: Working with dry media including graphite pencils, pencil colours and oil pastels to create expressive artworks. Also working with acrylic paint as a wet media.
Module 3: Introducing watercolour painting and mixed media using oil pastels, charcoal and fineliners.
Module 4: Bringing together all media used and techniques learnt throughout the modules.
Upon completing all four modules, students will have the technical skills, creative confidence, and structured portfolio necessary to advance to the O-Level Art Class (Ages 13+) at Art Academy.
Course Details

Duration: 10 lessons per semester (4 semesters in total)
Location: Art Academy Mosta (Art Academy, 131, Constitution Street, Mosta)
Requirements: Students need to bring their own materials and need to be over 12 years of age.
What’s Included: Hands-on teaching, individual attention, practice and theory, course-work guidance.
Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be accredited for their Informal Learning and given a signed and stamped form for their Informal Education by the Institute.

This O-Level Art Course is designed for students who already have a strong foundation in art and wish to refine their skills in preparation for the Matsec Art O-Level Exam. Whether students plan to take art as a subject in school or sit for the exam privately, the structured lessons, hands-on practice, and guided tutorials, students will develop their technical proficiency in drawing, painting, and printmaking, while also strengthening their creative and analytical thinking.
What You’ll Learn
Mastering Core Techniques – Enhancing skills in pencil shading, perspective, still life, and composition.
Developing a Strong Portfolio – Building a cohesive body of work with artist research, creative exploration, and finished pieces.
Still Life Drawing & Painting – Improve observational skills by creating accurate and expressive still-life studies using different media.
Composition & Thematic Work – Develop ideas from a given theme, research, and create preparatory work leading to a final artwork.
Exploring a Range of Media – Working with graphite pencils, ink fineliners, dip pen & ink, acrylics, and aquarelle pencils.
Lino Printing – Learning the technique of relief printmaking to create striking graphic compositions
Understanding Visual Thinking – Learning how to critically analyse artwork and connect personal work with established artists and art movements
Course-Work Development – Completing essential coursework under the guidance of an experienced tutor to meet O-Level requirements
This course provides a comprehensive approach to artistic growth, ensuring that students gain the necessary technical skills, confidence, and creative expression to succeed in their O-Level Art Exam.
Course Details
Mode of Study: Once weekly (2 hours each lesson)
Duration: 10 lessons
Requirements: Age 13+,Art Materials, and students need to have a basic knowledge of art before attending the course. If you are a beginner we recommend the Preparation for O-Level Course (Ages 12+)
What’s Included: Hands-on teaching, individual attention, practice and theory, course-work guidance.
Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be accredited for their Informal Learning and given a signed and stamped form for their Informal Education by the Institute.
